This painting was for a project where we had to design a CD cover for a song by one of our favorite artists. Naturally, I chose Janet Jackson's "Rock with U". This is not a portrait of the artist though, it's actually my friend Miznah. I had her pose for me under colored lights because I really wanted to play with the lyrics of the song, "strobe lights make everything sexier." Consequently, this painting is a combination of taking things I love- icons like Janet Jackson, catchy tunes, bright colors, and sultry poses all into one.
